Planning a cross country family road trip during a pandemic is not the easiest task. But taking out girls out west to see all the beauty our country has to offer is something we didn't want to pass up. Our plans have changed many times and we know they will probably change over the 16 days of our trip, but isn't that part of the adventure?

So here's the plan as it stands at the moment.

Days 1-2: Drive! Estero, FL to Morrison, CO (2037 miles, ~30 hours)

Day 3: Explore Morrison/Denver, CO

Days 4-6: Camping in Rocky Mountain National Park, CO - Hiking and rafting

Day 7: Family time with our cousins Day 8: Garden of the Gods, CO

Day 9: Great Sand Dunes National Park, CL

Day 10: Mesa Verde National Park, CO & Four Corners Monument

Days 11-2: Grand Canyon National Park, AZ - hiking and mule rides

Day 13: Las Vegas, NV

Day 14: Hoover Dam, NV

Days 15-16: Drive! Boulder City, NV to Gatlinburg, TN (1983 miles, ~30 hours)

We are heading to Morrison (just outside of Denver) to visit our cousins. They are going to adventure with us in the Rocky Mountain State Park through the Grand Canyon. A few more of our family from Florida are also planning to fly in and join us on the Grand Canyon leg of our journey. So our family of 4 will turn into a family of 6 to 10 depending on the day and events planned. Overall, 4 adults, 6 kids ranging in age from 4 to 15. I honestly couldn't think of a better way to spend time together.

Expect to see LOTS of dorky family pictures. We are going to be the most stereotypical tourists and embrace ever moment with our family. Enjoy the ride.

Now - how to pack?!?

Love it! We’re on our cross country adventure now! Spent some time in Kansas and heading up to South Dakota then onto Montana. We’ll come back through with stops in Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma and onto home. We’ll be gone about 2.5 weeks. So far it’s been a wonderful trip!
